FRST’s Personal Training encompasses a teaching approach in every session. If you don’t know the “why”, you’re less likely to enjoy the “how”.

Our trainers will always lead as teachers, while providing effective workouts and proper programming toward your goals.

Our training always starts with our Full Functional Assessment. This takes all the guesswork out of your training and allows you to build a solid foundation from the start.

Personal training is a great addition to our FRST Fitness classes, and can help provide swift results in posture change, day-to-day pain, weight loss, strength gain, the possibilities are endless.

Full Functional Assessment Phases

Tracking and Measurements

Phase 1

Without tracking information from day one, we would never be able to tell how far we’ve come. This information paints us a picture of where our starting point is, which helps us show you your improvements over time.

The first phase of your assessment is to take your measurements. Your heart rate and blood pressure are important indicators of what is taking place inside your body, and an easy way to track changes to the cardiovascular system.

We will also take full body measurements to better understand your body composition, allowing us to track where your body stores fat and builds muscle. These body measurements are kept note of and reassessed to ensure we are always moving forward toward your goals.

Posture & Movement Screen

Phase 2

The next phase of the assessment will look at posture. Here we will assess your standing and sitting positions. We will check your spinal alignment, shoulder alignment, as well as hip, knee, ankle joints, head and neck positions as the correlate to supporting a stronger structure around the most injury prone areas of the human body.

This part of the assessment is important to point out weakened muscle systems and imbalances in symmetry you regularly wouldn't find on your own, or with other trainers. Better posture can attribute to more ease of movement patterns, reduced back and neck pain, reduce risk of injury when working with resistance and will help build a solid foundation for the movements to come.

We will also take note of your movement patterns, and how your body wants to move through basic patterning to better assess what areas of training should be focused on first.

Baseline Strength Testing

Phase 3

The last phase of the assessment will focus on strength measurements and getting your heart pumping! These tests will be very specific to your goals and may vary depending on your current fitness level. This is the point of the assessment where you will be moving and putting your body to the test!

From the results of your tests, we are able to build a proper, personalized fitness program, and also able to compare notes later on down the road when we re-assess to see which areas you have improved in and where to focus on next.
