We plant 5 trees for every membership sold. Our target is steep – we want to plant 10,000 trees in our local community. By using only eco-friendly products, biodegradable and compostable consumables, we’ve taken the FRST steps in showing that one small company can make one serious impact in its community…. and we’re just getting started.

Our Story

Being in the fitness and rehab industry for many years, we noticed a gap in two major areas.

First, there wasn’t a dedicated space for people to go once they had recovered from injury. Physiotherapy does a great job at getting a person back to ground zero, but where do they go from there?

There was no trusted space to help people recover from post rehab services – to use strength training as a tool to not only reduce re-injury, but to educate and empower those people to do what we call “getting back to life” – playing and keeping up with their kids, getting back to a sport they used to love playing, having the energy and stamina to try new things and enjoy the most life has to offer in a strong, able body.

The second major opportunity came in the way the industry operates group fitness classes. Most of the classes I have seen and participated in were designed to push people harder and harder, but with no progression or direction.

Anyone can make a hard workout, and sweating is great, but it’s not the only way to be efficient in the gym.

The FRST Fitness Difference

We took a radically different approach to group fitness. We thought… What if we could provide a stellar group fitness environment while also giving 1-1 attention and education, like personal training in a small group setting?

A place where a member would never get lost in a crowd of 30+ people, the trainers would not only know their names, but would work with them directly, which improves the individual, not just the crowd.

Now, take that and design a periodization training program – the same way you would train one-on-one with a coach or mentor, and infuse it into a long-term, progressive plan that builds on the previous workouts AND prepares you for what’s to come. Welcome to FRST Fitness.

If our approach is so great, why doesn’t everyone do it?

  1. It’s not easy – hours and hours go into our group class programming. It pays off for our members, so it’s worth it.
  2. Most lack long-term thinking – What we do for our health today affects the next 5, 10, 15 years. With this in mind, it’s no wonder we still have members coming in regularly who joined over 5 years ago.
  3. Experience is everything – We have tried tons of group classes with the sole purpose of seeing what works and what doesn’t. We’re learning every time we train, too!
